*Why Were You So Happy Yesterday?*
[In Lesson No. 14 we have learned that we use the verbs am, is and are for 1) Present states of being and 2) Regular states of being. అంటే I am, he/ she (names in the singular)/ it (anything/ idea in the singular) is and we/ you/ they (names of persons/ things) are for
Being now (ప్రస్తుతం ఉండటం),
Regular states of being/ being always (క్రమం తప్పకుండా/ ఎల్లప్పుడూ ఉండటం)]
In this lesson, we learn the uses of "was" and "were".
Was and were tell us of past states of being.
అంటే గతం (past) లో ఉండటాన్ని తెలియజేయడానికి Singular subjects తో "was"; Plural subjects తో "were" వాడతాం.
a) I was there yesterday.
(నిన్న నేను అక్కడ ఉన్నాను) - గతం
b) My book (It - singular) was on the table last night.
నిన్న రాత్రి నా పుస్తకం టేబుల్‌పై ఉంది (Past)
c) Where was he yesterday?
నిన్న (Past) అతడు ఎక్కడ ఉన్నాడు?
d) Why was Sarada (she) here this morning?
(ఈరోజు ఉదయం శారద ఇక్కడ ఎందుకు ఉంది? - (Past))
e) We (plural) were at the party last night (Past).
(మేం నిన్న రాత్రి పార్టీలో ఉన్నాం.)
f) Where were your parents (They - plural) last week (Past)?
( కిందటివారం మీ తల్లిదండ్రులు ఎక్కడ ఉన్నారు)?
g) Why were you so happy yesterday (Past)?
( నిన్న నువ్వు చాలా సంతోషంగా ఉన్నావేంటి?)
"Regular states of being",
"States of being always" ను తెలియజేయడానికి
I తో "am",
He/ she/ it తో "is";
we/ you/ they తో "are" వాడతాం కదా!
అదేవిధంగా Regular actions (క్రమం తప్పకుండా చేసే పనులకు);
Actions did always (ఎల్లప్పుడూ చేసే పనులకు) వాడే verbs ఏమిటో ఇప్పుడు తెలుసుకుందాం...

● Come -- Comes
● Go -- Goes
● Write -- Writes
● Sing -- Sings
పైన A, B ల కింద ఇచ్చిన Verbs ను Regular actions/ Actions done always ను తెలియజేయడానికి వాడతాం.
A లో పేర్కొన్నవాటికి "s" లేదా"es" చేరిస్తే, B లో పేర్కొన్న verbs వస్తాయి.
Note: I, we, you, they (నేను, మనం/ మేం, నువ్వు/మీరు, వాళ్లు/అవి) తో A లో పేర్కొన్న verbs వాడతాం. He, she, it (అతడు, ఆమె, అది) తో B లో పేర్కొన్న verbs ను ("_s"/ "_es"చేర్చినవి) వాడతాం.
● I Speak Telugu.
● We Speak Telugu.
● You Speak Telugu.
● They Speak Telugu.
● My parents/ My friends Susila & Jaya Speak Telugu.

● My mother (she) Speaks Telugu.
● My friend (he/she) Speaks Telugu.
● This class (it) Speaks Telugu.

*గమనిక:* క్రమం తప్పకుండా చేసే పనులకు, తరచూ చేసే పనులకూ, ఎల్లప్పుడూ చేసే పనులకూ,
I, we, you and they తో "speak", "sing", "walk", "talk" లాంటి వాటిని వాడతారు. He, she and it తో అయితే పైన పేర్కొన్న verbs కు, "_s" ను గానీ "_es"ను గానీ చేరుస్తారు.

A fan (It) gives air.
b) I go to movies once a week.
My sister (She) goes to movies once a week.
c) Planes (They = అవి) fly.
A plane (It = అది) flies.
d) Dogs (They) bite.
